Application process

Overview of the SSC

PCP is a four-year student selected programme (SSC) open for medical students at Barts and the London. As part of the programme, students get to go on observer shifts with different emergency and prehospital teams depending on their year of study. In addition, there are monthly Academic Forums, practicals and other opportunities to get involved in e.g. moulages, symposiums and governance days.  

Each year, there are 10 spaces for students on the undergraduate MBBS programme and 2 spaces for students on the GEP programme at Barts and the London.

  • A&E shifts
  • MEDIC-2 car shifts with London's Air Ambulance

Application Process

The application process is now closed, and will re-open in Spring 2023. 

The Application usually consists of written application, group interview and an individual interview. 


Attendance at Academic Forums matters - make sure you fill out the feedback form at the end of each AF so that we can see your attendance.

Disclaimer

The Prehospital Care Programme is a Student Selected Component (SSC) run through Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The Academic Forums are primarily aimed at medical students. While other HCP are welcome, they should practice within their own clinical guidelines.
